Bondable orthodontic components depend on two types of reliability: secure bonding to the tooth and a stable connection between the base and the component body. SINO ORTHO upgraded both by changing from a welded mesh-base structure to a one-piece monoblock design.
In a conventional mesh-base product, a separate mesh pad is welded to the main body. Although the mesh provides mechanical retention for the adhesive, the construction still contains a welded interface between two separate parts.
With monoblock manufacturing, the component body and bonding base are formed as one integrated structure. Instead of an attached mesh layer, the base incorporates multiple raised retentive elements that create a three-dimensional surface for mechanical interlocking with the adhesive.
The retentive base pattern is designed to support stronger and more consistent bonding to the tooth, helping reduce unwanted debonding during treatment.
At the same time, the one-piece construction removes the welded base-to-body interface, reducing the risk of the base separating from the component itself. A cleaner, more consistent finish also supports product quality and handling. By reducing unplanned debonding and rebonding procedures, the upgraded design can contribute to a smoother treatment experience for both clinicians and patients.
Although a buccal tube is shown in this case, the same monoblock base concept can also be applied to metal brackets, lingual buttons, and other bondable orthodontic components.
